The Daimyo Procession held in Toyokawa City on October 11, 2026 (Sunday) carries on the traditions of Meiji-era festivals. The sight of participants dressed as samurai and commoners strolling along the streets of this post town makes for an enchanting historical experience.
This procession starts at Sugimori Hachiman Shrine and travels through the surrounding area of the old Tokaido Akasaka-juku. It is about a 10-minute walk from Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line "Meiden Akasaka" Station. If the weather is good, be sure to visit!
