The Ōtsu Festival (大津祭) is a celebration of Tenson Shrine (天孫神社) that has continued since the Edo period. Held every October, the highlight is the beautiful parade of floats. Each float showcases different mechanical displays, entertaining visitors.
The festival in 2026 will have the evening event on October 10 and the main festival on October 11. Especially during the main festival, the floats will parade vigorously through the streets of Ōtsu. Seating areas will also be provided for comfortable enjoyment of the festival.
